UX Thursday #100

Illustration of, laptop, notebook, person reading

Surely the Christmas madness has made itself clear to you, so we are honored that you found a moment to familiarize yourself with our UX Thursday.

Today's lineup is doubly unique. It is the last review we create in 2022 and the first with a three-digit number in the name! Yes, we have already released 99 UX Thursdays and we want to go through what has happened so far with you:

  • In our list of the most interesting links from the world of UX for the last 4 years, every two weeks, new entries appeared periodically.
  • Our first entry falls on December 6, 2018
  • So far we have shared with you ok. 500 links.
  • The number of people who follow our lists on a regular basis is about 3,000 email subscribers and 3,000 subscribers on LinkedIn, which in total gives us 6,000 customers - so it can be assumed that this is probably the most popular UX newsletter in Poland!

We are not slowing down and we are entering the next year, 2023 with a fresh head and new inspirations. In today's roundup we want to present you the most important trends that the passing year has shaped us and a list of tools for designers for 2023.

Trends for the coming year

2022 was the culmination of the transformations that have taken place as a result of technological developments and the way society works since the pandemic. We recommend you report by UX Collective, in which the upcoming trends of change were collected, and UxMisfit trend prediction. And in them, among others:

The spectre of mass layoffs

Many employees of small and large companies (Twitter, Facebook, Coinbase) have been hit hard by mass layoffs. Frequent changes in business strategies result in pervasive transformations across projects and entire project teams. As a result of the lack of stability, designers begin to feel less and less satisfaction with their work, and still-quitting (silent resignation) is gaining more and more followers.

Web 3.0 is coming

Previous Web 2.0 trends have put people at the center. However, Web 3.0 arrives, in which the decentralization of man leads him to explore spaces unknown to him. This vision focuses on an undiscovered universe, advanced technology and promises a better, new world.

Artificial intelligence in design

The development of AI is gaining momentum and does not slow down. The vision of automated robots taking over human tasks is increasingly real. The creative industry is on the verge of a huge technological transformation. Designers are both terrified and excited, exploring models of collaboration with AI and creating Plugs for Figma in order to develop the most efficient work opportunities.

No-code has entered the salons

Deploying digital products without the use of code is a fresh and dynamic process. The coming year promises to be a battlefield of two platforms: Webflow and Framer. We can expect a lot of new solutions and extensions for these tools that are worth watching.

Toolbox for 2023

Influence Marketing is entry by Geyser Werner, in which the recommended tools for UX/UI designers for 2023 are collected and described. You probably already know many of the items on this list, but we are also convinced that some of them you have never had the chance to use.

Taylor Palmer and Jordan Bowman have created an extensive survey on design tools. Here you will find information about the most used software by UX and UI designers in 2022. Are you looking for something that will serve as a research repository, or maybe you want to make an advanced prototype of your interface? So this survey is for you.

Are the above proposals insufficient? Are you looking for an application for your company that will help in collecting feedback and marketing your products, or are you looking for a better communication tool? Companies' Tools This will allow you to see what tools companies use around the world.

summary

2022 has been a lesson for us about the dynamics of change in our environment. So we hope that we will all enter 2023 prepared for the next challenges. Let us always strive to improve our environment, constantly take care of our development and question any uncertainties.

Remember that it is good to be prepared, but no one can predict the future without error. We wish you an open mind and a constant passion for doing cool things. Thank you for being with us and see you in 2023! 🥳
