The population of the giant panda, also called the bamboo bear, probably due to the areas it mainly inhabits, now numbers about 1,800 individuals. Thanks to the joint efforts of environmental organizations and the local community in the places of occurrence, the status of the giant panda species has been changed from the category of “endangered species” to “threatened with extinction”. March 16 is the day of the giant panda worldwide - we decided to celebrate it with a short comment and graphics in the introduction.
