UX Thursday #5

Illustration of, laptop, notebook, person reading

Today we bring to your attention the issue of e-commerce design for the B2B segment and drop you a handful of links to materials helpful in creating projects for mobile devices. We're also looking at dark patterns and the dangers of over-personalizing content. And finally, an inspiring conversation with Don Norman, not just design.

1. Dark patterns, or anti-instruction design

Ana Valjak, graphic designer, prepared in her article a compilation 13 examples of dark patterns, that is, tricks that allow us to design interfaces that do not focus on positive user experiences, but are dictated by business tactics and tendencies to manipulate. Find out how NOT to design.

2. WITHselection of materials about design for mobile devices

A pill containing list of links for useful materials on designing for mobile platforms. A lot of helpful content.

3. Overpersonalization

Content personalization has been a very popular topic lately. The benefits of it seem obvious, but have you ever wondered where excessive personalization can lead? Researchers from NN Group decided to take the issue for the workshop.

4. How to design for B2B?

During last year's UX Poland conference Tomasz Skórski talked about his experience in designing e-commerce for the B2B segment at Inter Cars. We recommend that you pay attention, especially since it is a case from the domestic market.

5. Seeking Understanding — A Conversation with Don Norman

Don Norman, engineer, designer, author of the book “Dizajn na cada día”, in a conversation with Natalia Mazur, with his custom clearly proves that, as users, we often wrongly blame ourselves for the mistakes (or omissions) of designers.

We remind you that if you would like to share with us interesting links from the world of UX, send your proposals to newsletter@ideacto.pl, and we will be happy to share them in the next UX Thursdays. [FM_form id=” 1″]
